Painting the landscape from the inside out
Canadian artist Holly Friesen was born in Saskatchewan, studied Fine Arts at John Abbott College in Montreal and York University in Toronto. After her more formal education she purchased a motorcycle and took to the road where she learned to live on her own terms by following the rivers and listening to the earth.
Friesen's work reflects a symbiotic relationship with the land around her as she translates the poetry of the earth into exuberant and textural paintings.
